Dr. Kamran Ahrar is a tenured Professor at the University of Texas MD Anderson Cancer Center. His primary appointment is with the Department of Interventional Radiology. His secondary appointment is with the Department of Thoracic and Cardiovascular Surgery. Dr. Ahrar received his Doctorate in Medicine from the Keck School of Medicine of the University of Southern California in 1993. He received his Masters of Business Administration with Healthcare Specialization from the Jones Graduate School of Business, Rice University in 2015. Since joining the faculty at MD Anderson Cancer Center in 1999, Dr. Ahrar has been a leader in developing innovative service lines including ablative therapies for liver, kidney, lung and bone tumors.
For his continued efforts in advancing the field of interventional radiology, Dr. Ahrar was elected a fellow in the Society of Interventional Radiology (SIR) and the American College of Radiology (ACR).
