Prof. Irene Bargellini is an Interventional Radiologist, Chair of the Diagnostic and Interventional Radiology Department at Candiolo Cancer Institute in Turin, Italy, and Associate Professor in the Department of Surgical Sciences of the University of Turin, Italy.

She received her medical degree from the University of Pisa in 1999, completed her radiology residency in Pisa in 2003 and received a Master Degree in Interventional Radiology in 2017.

From 2003 to 2022 served as Staff Radiologist in the Interventional Radiology Department of Pisa University Hospital. Then moved in the Interventional Radiology Unit of Florence University Hospital and finally moved to Turin at Candiolo Cancer Institute.

The main focus of her clinical and scientific work is on oncologic imaging and interventional oncology, with particular reference to liver imaging and liver tumors’ loco-regional and systemic therapies.

Prof. Bargellini is Member of the Executive Committee of Italian Society of Radiology (SIRM), fellow of the Cardiovascular and Interventional Radiology Society in Europe (CIRSE), and member of the Society of Interventional Oncology (SIO), the European Society of Radiology (ESR), European Society for the Study of the Liver (EASL) and International Liver Cancer Association (ILCA).
