Director of the Department of Vascular and Interventional Radiology at the University Hospital of Florence.

He is Professor of Interventional Radiology and certified by the European Board of Interventional Radiology (EBIR).

An active researcher, he has participated in several clinical research studies. Author or co-author of more than 150 scientific publications in peer-reviewed journals. Author of 6 books and co-author of 19 books on radiological-interventional sciences. Speaker at more than 600 international congresses.

Involved in more than 150 training courses on endovascular techniques; organizer and co-organizer of several international and national courses.

Founder and course director of the Interdisciplinary Endovascular Forum (IM Endo). Active member of the Italian Society of Medical Radiology-SIRM, the European Society of Radiology-ESR, the Cardiovascular and Interventional Radiology Society of Europe-CIRSE, the Italian College of Interventional Radiology-ICIR. He is Editor-inChief of EURORAD, a publication of the Vascular and Interventional Radiology Section of the ESR, and Associate Editor of JVIR and CVIR Endovascular.

He serves on the editorial boards and as a reviewer for several other medical journals.
