Dr. Laura Crocetti, MD, PhD, EBIR, is an Associate Professor of Radiology at the University of Pisa, specializing in Interventional Radiology. She completed her medical degree with honors at the University of Pisa in 1998 and went on to obtain her PhD in 2007. She holds the European Board of Interventional Radiology (EBIR) certification and is recognized for her contributions to interventional oncology, particularly in tumor ablation and liver cancer treatments.
Dr. Crocetti is heavily involved in education, teaching radiology at various levels and directing the Master’s program in Vascular Interventional Radiology. She has leadership roles in professional societies, serving on committees for CIRSE (Cardiovascular and Interventional Radiological Society of Europe) and as Deputy Chairperson for the European Conference on Interventional Oncology (ECIO). She will chair ECIO in 2024 and 2025. Her research focuses on image-guided therapies for cancers, including experimental and clinical trials on new techniques.
In addition to her academic roles, Dr. Crocetti has published extensively with over 70 peer-reviewed journal articles and several book chapters. She serves as an editor and reviewer for prominent medical journals and has been an invited speaker at more than 200 international conferences.
