Prof. Philippe Lucien Pereira studied medicine in Lille, France, and began his career at the University of Lille. In 1995, he joined the Department of Diagnostic and Interventional Radiology at the University of Tübingen, Germany, completing research on MR-guided bone marrow interventions.

In 2001, he became a Professor of Radiology, was appointed Deputy Chairman in 2004, and has led the Center of Radiology, Minimally Invasive Therapies, and Nuclear Medicine at SLK-Clinics since 2008. He is also affiliated with the University of Tübingen and Danube Private University, Austria.

His research focuses on interventional radiology, particularly oncologic interventions. He was the first in Germany to perform percutaneous lung cancer ablation (1996) and has contributed to oncological guidelines. He holds key positions in CIRSE, DeGIR, ECO, and is CIRSE’s Vice-President.

He served as President of IROS 2018, Chairman of the European Conference on Interventional Oncology (2022-2023), and has received numerous prestigious awards. With over 340 scientific publications and 30 book chapters, he actively consults on technological advancements in interventional oncology.
