Dr. Alex Tang is an accomplished radiologist specializing in interventional radiology and oncology. He focuses on procedures like arterial embolization for bleeders, uterine and prostatic artery embolization, managing vascular malformations (AVM, hemangioma, AV fistula), and neurovascular interventions such as stroke salvage and aneurysm coiling. He is also experienced in interventional oncology, offering treatments like SIRT-Yttrium-90 and transarterial chemoembolization, as well as advanced diagnostic imaging, complex biopsies, and venous access interventions.
Dr. Tang has treated various conditions, including gastrointestinal bleeds, hemoptysis, metastasis, pulmonary embolism, and venous thrombosis.
He served as President of the Asia Pacific Society of Cardiovascular and Interventional Radiology (APSCVIR) from 2008-2010 and remains an Executive Member. Additionally, he is a Board Member of the Asian Pacific Association of Image Guided Therapy in Oncology (APAITO).
Dr. Tang earned his medical degree from the University of Malaya (1988), completed postgraduate training at the University Kebangsaan Malaysia (1995), and pursued advanced fellowship training in vascular and interventional radiology in London and neuroradiology in Oxford. He is certified by the National Specialist Register (Malaysia) and the Royal College of Radiologists (UK).
